Fabric Bowls

I made fabric bowls as a meditation. The twine is hand twisted using strips that came from clothing, bedsheets, doona covers, shower curtains, anything that I can make strips from. I use scrap yarn to stitch the fabric twine into bowls. Sometimes I use old buttons for the front to finish off the end. Each one is unique. They are available to purchase. Pastel Coloured Bowl

This is the first bowl I made. The fabric was an old doona cover and the yarn is some scrap white. I especially liked how the snaps from the ends of the doona cover peaked through the design at time. Height 12cm, Diameter 19 cm.

Black and white bowl

This bowl was a commission for a friend. It was made from alternating black and white strips. The fabric is from bedsheets and the button was one I found amongst my grandma's sewing things.

Brown wool bowl

The fabric for this bowl was an old doona cover someone gave me. This has been sold.

Blue Coloured Bowl

This strips for this bowl were a mish mash of fabrics and yarn. The button is one that somehow made it's way into the house and it fit nicely with this bowl. This has been sold.

Yellow Bowl

I choose fabrics which complimented each other, some were strips from clothes, some was from a doona cover. The button came from and old coat that was given to me and I deconstructed it for parts. Height 14cm, Diameter 16cm.

Red Orange Bowl with handles

This fabric was from a shower curtain. The yarn is a deep red. The purple button was from a container someone gave me full of sewing supplies. Height 11cm, Diameter 20cm bowl and 27cm to edge of handles.
