I just have to make comment as to the photo. I searched for "fruit salad" and this was one of the pictures. Made me laugh! I was craving fruit this morning. I had banana, greek yoghurt, pecans and cashews for breakfast. Tummy feeling ok, mostly. I did a nice poo after I got up. Always nice to start the day cleaning out the pipes. After breakfast I took 2 dexamethasone. I have to take 2 tomorrow after breakfast too.
Texting with a friend in the USA while having breakfast and found out a friend of mine from when I was in college (in the USA 1996 -1998) passed away on 27/12/22 from a sudden heart attack. She was only two weeks younger than me and had 6 kids, 3 still living at home. She is from Brazil but was living in Denmark. She had the heart attack at work, she is an ICU nurse. So very very sad for her and her whole family. It really puts in perspective that everyone has their own life shit to go through and sometimes our shit pales in comparison to other peoples.
I had a GP appointment with Dr Keppler. She needed to write me a referral for Dr Man. Apparently that should've been done but no one had told me. The oncology admin people said it happens all the time and not to worry. I had a pegfilgrastim (Ristempa) injection to do. Eileen said I could do it but I figured I was going to the GP and at least she can show me how it's done. This injection helps keep my white blood cell count stay up. They are part of your immune system. Injection doesn't hurt, it goes into my abdomen. I should be fine doing the rest of them. Dr Keppler also wrote out the 5 free referrals for the oncology clinic for me too. Before all the cancer stuff happened I was meant to book in for a pap smear. I don't think I know of any person who finds those appointments nice. Better do it next week and get it out of the way. One less thing to think about for a couple of years.
Dr Keppler hadn't got any correspondence from Dr Inder or Dr Man. She said she understands the holidays make things delayed. I gave her a run down of what I could remember. I also emailed Dr Inder's office to ask them to forward my records and I'll ask Dr Man next week as well. On the way home (I walked up - only about 10 mins each way. Humid today and UV index is 12, that's the highest of the extremes. I used my hat and shawl to protect myself) I called Kim to double check if I should wait after talking with Karen the OT to contact the oncology clinic and she said that was best. She asked how I was feeling so I gave her the run down. She says the injection today can also give me some aches and maybe a low fever and headache. My head feels slightly spacey but otherwise I haven't had any other symptoms yet.
Lewis popped over with his daughter Josie around lunchtime. A catch up chat and some discussion about my exercise plan. I show him the new exercises that Kim gave me and we decide that I might come next week one day and see how things go.
Did some shopping, got some brothy soups, dry crackers, fruit, frozen fruit, oat milk. I figure it's good to have some 'clean' foods around. I made a nice fruit smoothy with the oat milk as an afternoon snack. The cold food felt good. Tummy is ok but I could imagine it could turn on me quickly. Wouldn't want that to happen! I took a spew bag with me and also a spare pair of undies. Can't be too careful these days, could come out at either end without warning. Best to be prepared.
